- Russian and Chechnya formed separate Russia does
not support this happening. - Russia Declares war.
- Chechnya decisively wins battle and Russia
withdraws.

warning against separatism.

years but were unsuccessful.

called Taliban, declare themselves government. - They quickly take control of most of the country
