2The Cathedral
- The Church is very large compared to others in
Australia. - There are 160 windows, 72 windows are filled with
stained glass, others are just normal glass. The
windows have lovely decorations on them. - The Church stands 77.5 metres above the sea level
and 38.5 metres above the ground. - The Cathedral is very very popular because it is
the seat of the Bishop of Newcastle.

4The Earthquake
- In December 1989 an earthquake hit Newcastle and
damaged the Cathedral. - In the earthquake stone crosses and some other
decorations fell to the ground, walls were
cracked and windows were broken and out of place.
- It was a shame because it damaged a lot of the
cathedral. - In the picture the circled bits are the damaged
places.

5Some Interesting facts
- Did you know that I got Baptised there it was
weird well super weird. - The Cathedral is meant to be super scary because
there is a grave yard so that is why but I dont
think so. - Did you know that you can climb it? Well you can.
- There are so many stairs and floors that when you
get to the top of climbing the tower you get
super puffed.
