- Dual Purpose
- To provide an ongoing educational process to
develop maintain event readiness among
laboratories laboratory staff - To recognize those individuals and laboratories
that demonstrate competency in event readiness - Achievement Award requires successful completion
of exam modules - Biosafety
- Laboratory Emergency Response
- Laboratory Diagnostics (for labs that perform
testing) - AND
- Documented Training in Packaging Shipping

- Examinations, answer forms, instructions will
be mailed to Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor - Laboratories will receive certificate at
completion of each module and final completion - Final completion award will be presented in
person with notification of administration, local
media. - Will be a continuing process, with additional
requirements for recognition in future years.

- In development Two mechanisms to report
laboratory data reportable diseases - Direct data extraction from laboratory
information systems - Manual entry of data via secure electronic
website - No specific date for availability, but work is in
progress
