Shari Maurer My husband is a cardiologist who
cares for patients waiting for heart transplants.
One night he was featured on a Discovery Health
program on heart transplants. Also on the show
was a young girl waiting for a transplant. I
watched as she was wheeled into the operating
room, unsure if she would live or die, and was
haunted by the look on her face. I couldn't stop
thinking about her and thus, Emmi was born...

• In a world where the most stressful thing seems
  to be winning a soccer game or what to wear in
  the morning, you take some really basic things
  for granted.
• Like the love of your parents.
• Or hanging with your friends.
• Or the beating of your heart.
• A 16 years old named Emmi Miller had a fabulous
  life. She had tons of friends, did great in
  school and is an all-star soccer player who
  played in Europe last summer. Even Emmis crush
  Sam Hunter, a totally cute baseball player, had
  some interested in her. But then, she gets a
  virus. No biggy, right? Until the virus goes to
  her heart and weakens it so much that, without a
  transplant, Emmi will die.
• She met a guy, Abe, who has also had a transplant
  and guides her through these scary times and
  well, something happens.

• Emmi Emmis life is going perfectly, when all of
  a sudden she is diagnosed with heart failure. The
  former soccer star is now barely able to walk
  five feet without becoming winded. Emmi must
  learn to over come her anxiety as she waits for a
  heart transplant, and along the way discovers
  that life really means a lot more than she
  thought it did.
• Abe Abe is a guy that Emmi meets when she is on
  her way to get her first heart transplant. He
  starts talking to her and helping her through
  everything.

Reason for reading this book

• I chose this book because it seemed like
  something I was interesting in reading. Once I
  read what it was about, I knew it was going to be
  inspiring and once I started reading it, there
  where some parts I could have related in my
  personal life.
• Not only the cover was interesting to me, but
  also the passage of information that I read
  before reading the actual book.

• The theme of this book was mostly about a girl
  (Emmi) getting a heart transplant and the life
  she goes through, suffering all the fatigue and
  pain. Also, the pact that her and her bestfriend
  do.

Should you read this book? Yes or no..
YES

• Its a great book. A book you just cant bare but
  to read fast just to get to the solution of the
  problem.
• Since I am the type of people who picture
  everything when they read, it came to perfect
  understandment and got me to put myself into
  Emmis shoes. I would recommend it to anyone who
  is in the mood for inspiration and maybe even
  tear up a bit, giirllls.. )
