RD Strategic Plan
  • Based on information gathered from
    stakeholders on pipeline safety issues,
technology needs and gaps, and opportunities for
technology innovation, PHMSA has established a
set of strategic objectives. The objectives of
the RD program, are to improve pipeline safety,
    integrity, and reliability by
  • Developing technology that supports the PHMSA
    regulatory mission
  • Focusing on near-term technology development
    needs and opportunities
  • Conducting an effective program of technology
    transfer and communication with stakeholders
  • Maximizing the return on the RD investment by
coordinating activities with other sources of RD
    funding, including other federal agencies
  • Efficiently and effectively managing the RD
    program.
