What is CIL about?
  • Mission CILs mission is to provide librarians
    and other information professionals with useful
    and insightful information about all
    computer-related subjects that affect their jobs.
  • Main topic News and issues relating to the field
    of library information technology.
  • Main Audience Librarians located in academic,
    public, special, K-12, corporate, or any other
    type of library.
  • Focus Practical application of technology in
    community, school, academic, and special
    libraries.

About the Authors
  • Librarians and library professionals are the main
    writers for CIL.
  • Prior publishing experience is not a
    prerequisite.
  • There are Writers Guidelines are sent to authors
    when their article is approved that must be met.
  • All articles must go through a query process
    prior to being written and published. Online
    Query Form.
  • CIL is not a peer reviewed journal.

Who is not an author?
  • Vendors are not eligible to submit articles.
  • Venders can not be involved in writing an
    article, however Librarians can submit articles
    on how they used products in an interesting way
    to solve problems. Articles need to be on a
    project not a product.
  • Conference papers are not accepted as they can be
    lengthy and overly academic.
  • If the papers are re-written into an article that
    meets the guidelines and the article is accepted
    though the query process, they may be accepted.
