Searching the Media Center from any computer

• Log in from your classroom
• Go to our school website
• Locate HIP and select
• Select search for books.
• Type in subject, title or author then go!
• Horizon Information Portal

Making a Selection

• Find the material you want.
• You may then Place a hold, or add to your list to
  print out.
• Holds should be placed only if items are checked
  out.

Searching for AR

• From the school website.
• J.V. Washam Elementary School
• Select AR from the side Menu.
• J.V. Washam Elementary School Accelerated
  Reading Lists
• Search for Books by Author, Title, or AR Level
• Copy the Title you want.
• Use the back button to return to HIP.
• Paste the title in the Search for Books blank

Here is how we help

• We encourage students to check out at least one
  AR book on their level, and one Free choice.
• For Kindergarten, we pull different levels in
  groups for them to choose from
• Parents may also check out up to 3 books.
• Students current A.R. Levels are written on their
  Library Cards for quick reference.
