  • The first thing to say is there will be less
    shortcuts and quick fixes. Gone are the days of
    looking for a loophole in Googles algorithm. You
    need to focus on what Googles audience
    (searchers) want. To do that, I recommend in 2013
    that you stick to three simple rules
  • Create an integrated campaign. SEO (Search
    Engine Optimization) is no longer enough. Your
    social media activity, or lack of, is being
    watched! Google is taking an increasing interest
    in how well you are doing on social media. You do
    need to focus your efforts where your audience
    are more likely to be, but there is no opt out
    for this. You absolutely must start building your
    social media campaign. Whats more, it has to be
    part of your SEO.

  • You need to develop your skills as an author.
    The platform you choose to use can be up to you,
    but becoming a content author in 2013 will be
    critical to your success. The best option is to
    write blogs, create videos and podcasts as well
    as slideshows. With this content, you can find
    the right outlet for your content according to
    your audience. You should have a content plan
    that integrates with your social media plan. Plan
    is the right word. Dont spend hours every week
    coming up with ideas, just set a theme and build
    on it. Each piece of content can be fairly
    simple. It doesnt have to be your entire works!

  • Whatever you do author should add value. Adding
    value will attract followers. Start to think in
    terms of how you can help people, not, how you
    can sell to people. As you add value, your
    followers will choose to buy when the time is
    right for them. Lets face it, when was the last
    time you enjoyed being sold to at a time you were
    not ready to buy? There is a magical formula, but
    it is different for everyone for promoting your
    wares. The key is, once you establish a pattern
    of helping people (adding value) your followers
    will not be upset with the occasional plug for
    your products or services. Just make sure that
    even these are of real potential value to your
    followers.
  • So, in 2013, be yourself. Be natural. If that
    means creating content of value and sharing it on
    a variety of social media, then you deserve to
    win and you will. Google will love you because
