  • Prudent management of the Governments financial

    with the aim of maximizing sustainable economic

    procedures being used by assigned Government
    Agencies.

    revenue administration.

  • Prepares estimates of Revenue for the annual
    budget.

  • Maintains and continuously develop an efficient
    accounting system for the Government in a timely
    and accurate manner.
  • Maintains the Governments valued credit
    reputation by ensuring compliance with the terms
    of the Governments Debt instruments.
  • Effectively administers the payroll and pension
    system for the employees and pensioners of the
    Government service and provides for punctual and
    correct payments.
  • Ensures accountability over all the accounting
    operations in Government Ministries and
    Departments, through technical supervision and
    control.

  • Strives to improve the efficiency of the
    Governments accounting service with the total
    support of the Minister of Finance and the
    Financial Secretary.
  • Administers the requisite provisions of the Stamp
    Act.
  • Executes the Budget as laid out by statutory
    requirements
  • Produces financial information in a timely and
    efficient manner.
  • Continues to promote quality service to the
    public at large.

COMPLIANCE COMMISSION
  • Ensures that Financial Institutions have verified
    the identity of all accounts-holders including
    joint-holders, where applicable.
  • Ensures that verification of identity for
    occasional transactions in excess of 10,000 is
    secured before that transaction is permitted and
    that the verification takes place as soon as
    practicable where a structured transaction is
    suspected
  • Ensures that the identity of third parties is
    verified at the appropriate time and in the
    prescribed manner.
  • Ensures that records of transactions and
    verification are being maintained.
  • Ensures that Suspicious Transactions Reports are
    being made in the appropriate circumstances and
    manner.
  • Ensures that internal reporting procedures are
    being observed, the appointment of Money
    Laundering Reporting Officers and Compliance
    Officers have been made and that a training
    programme consistent with the F.I.U guidelines is
    in effect and is being maintained.
