Scrap Tire ProgramMarket Development Grants

• In December 2006 amendments were made to grant
  provisions of Part 169, Scrap Tires, of the
  Natural Resources and Environmental Protection
  Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended (NREPA).

• 500,000 available each year for grants to
  support development of increased markets.
• Cost reimbursement grants up to 50 percent of
  equipment cost.

• Effective March 26, 2008, there are new waste
  regulations for composting yard clippings PA
  212 of 2007 amends Part 115, Solid Waste
  Management, of NREPA.

  yard clippings.
• DEQ-registered composting facilities will be
  subject to a 600 registration fee.
• The registration is for 3 years.
• Registered facilities have location restrictions
  and operating requirements.
