  events. The pictures are likely to be labelled or
  annotated.
• The purpose of using a cartoon strip sequence is
  to explore the learners ideas about the sequence
  of events in a process or series of processes.

• Learners draw a picture and write a brief
  description.
• Less fluent writers might not add any writing or
  may select word from a word bank.
• They can be used at the start of an activity to
  invite learners to share initial
  ideas/preconceptions/predictions.
• They can be used at the end of an activity to
  assess learning.
