• Ottoman, Russian, and Qing Empires in the 19th
  and early 20th Century

Directions

• The class will be divided to three groups, each
  representing an empire.
• Group members will answer the questions related
  to the empire.
• Minimum of two people per question.
• Answers to the questions must be detail and
  specific.
• This needs to be similar to the way you answered
  the Industrial Revolution Questions.
• All answers must be typed in a Word Document and
  placed in Mr. Nelsons drop box.
• After all the groups have finished, each group
  will present their answers and led the class in a
  discussion.
• Classmates will take notes down on each others
  answers to the questions.
• You will be graded as an individual for being
  productive in class, both on the completion of
  the questions, class discussion, and over all
  contribution to your group.

  Empire?
• What was the nature of reform and revolt in the
  Russian Empire?
• Describe the organization of the Russian Empire
  as a European and Asian power?
• Address both regions.

1. What were the strengths of the Qing Empire in the
   19th century?
2. What were the weaknesses of the Qing Empire in
   the 19th century?
3. What were the characterizes of the relationship
   between China and other global powers?
4. What was the significance of the Opium War and
   the Taiping Rebellion?
