13rd Grade EOG Night
2- Your child will take the End of Grade Test (EOG)
from May 19th - 21st - Each child will take a Reading Test and a Math
Test. They will receive a score of I, II, III,
IV. Only a score of III or IV is passing.

4What happens if they make a I or a II
- They will take a retest
- They will receive specialized tutoring in the
area that they will be retested - If they do not pass the retest they will be
required to go to summer school in July. - If they still do not pass they will be a
candidate for retention.
5How can I help?
- Look over homework with your child each night.
- Spend time with your child going over their work.
- Make sure your child is at school on time
everyday. Attendance is crucial for success! - Encourage your child to work independently,
checking periodically to assist as needed. - Expose your child to real life experiences that
relate to math such as making purchases, cooking,
etc. - Read to/with your child every day.
6- All EOG mathematics questions are multiple
choice. - To best allow students to demonstrate higher
order learning, the students will complete a
calculator active and calculator inactive section - They will be given scrap paper, which is crucial
to use in order to work out multi-step word
problems, etc. They are also able to show their
work inside the test booklet. - The test is not timed, however they need to use
their time wisely.

and 28 Calculator Inactive

triangular prism? - Data Analysis and Probability
- Tonys computer game has a three-digit secret
code. The code has a 7, a 5, and a 3 in it. How
many possible numbers could there be with these
three digits? - Algebra
- What is the value of the unknown in the number
sentence 9 ?? 4?

- 8 Reading Selections
- 3 to 9 questions for each selection
- Total of 50 test questions
- 4 literary selections
- 2 Fiction
- 1 nonfiction
- 1 poem
- 3 informative selections
- 2 content
- 1 consumer
- The 8th selection will be one more from any of
the above catagories.
