Telescopes

• Galileo was the first person to use a telescope
  to study the moon.
• The lens at the far end is the objective lens and
  it collects light and brings it to a focus.
• The second lens is the eyepiece lens and it makes
  the object larger.

Spiral Galaxies

• look like flat disks with bulges in the center
  and spiral arms. Pinwheel-shaped EX Milky Way

Elliptical Galaxies

• rounded and longer in one direction than the
  other, like a football.

Irregular Galaxies

• neither disk-like nor rounded, they dont have a
  definite shape.
