Dr. Mohannad Jamil Barakat has many years of
experience in the field of orthopaedics and
trauma. He has expertise in all aspects of trauma
surgery and has successfully performed surgeries
from simple to complex trauma cases.

These include all emergency trauma surgery,
external fixation and frame ring fixation for
fractures, hip fractures, long bone fractures,
ankle fractures, Calcaneal/talus fractures,
midfoot/forefoot fractures and all pediatric
fractures.

He is also competent in elective procedures with
significant experience in carpal tunnel release,
trigger finger release, Trapeziectomy, spine
nerve root blocks, spine facet joint steroid and
local anaesthetic injections, spine
microdicectomy, spinal fusion, scoliosis
correction and more.

Dr. Mohannad Barakat GMC has significant teaching
experience as well. He is involved with the
teaching and examination of students, junior and
senior doctors at various stages of their
education, allied professionals, and theatre
staff at a local, national and international
level.

He has the Oxford Teaching the Teachers
Certificate, and is an examiner on the Miller
FRCS Course. He is a reviewer for the British
Medical Journal (BMJ), Journal of Joint and Bone
Surgery (JBJS) and the European Journal of
Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (EJOST).

He passionately follows his interests and
activities. He likes to play basketball,
volleyball, football, tennis and cricket. He is
the first team player at the University
Basketball Club and Coach of the Second Team
Championship winner as a player and as a coach.
He supports several charitable causes including
cancer research and Help The Aged.
