  • The following slide shows some of the worlds
    greatest buildings.
  • The students of the 5th grade class worked hard
    researching, typing, and editing these reports
    and slides.
  • We hope you enjoy them.

Great Buildings and Monuments
  • There are many constructions and monuments
    around the world.
  • One of them is the Parthenon and another is the
    Great Wall of China.
  • One building in India is the Taj Mahal.
  • Stonehenge was built to tell time
  • The Great Pyramid of Khufu was built as a tomb
    for the Pharaoh of Egypt.
  • Three United States buildings are the Statue of
    Liberty, the Empire State Building and the U.S
    capital.
  • At one point the Eiffel Tower was one of the
    tallest buildings in the world.

Brooklyn Bridge
  • The architects were John Augustus Roebling and
    his son Washington Augustus Roebling.
  • The Brooklyn Bridge started on January 3, 1887.
  • The day it was completed was May 24, 1883.

  • It was known as the Great Pyramid of Khufu.

  • The Parthenon is an ancient Greek temple.
  • The construction of the Parthenon took 15 years
    from 447 B.C to 432 B.C.
  • The Parthenon have been around for a few of
    thousands of years.
  • It was built to be a place to talk to there gods.
  • It was caught in a fiery explosion in the 1600s.
  • The Parthenon is surrounded by columns and inside
    there are 2 rooms.
  • The Parthenon still is around today.

  • The building the Taj Mahal started in 1630 and it
    was finished 23 years later in 1653.
  • It was used for a tomb for Emperor Shah Jahan and
    his queen, Mumtaz Mahal.
  • It is located on the banks of the Yamuma River in
    Agra, India.

  • It is the oldest wooden structure in Japan
