- Our approach to planning seeks to ensure
- Logical sequencing
- Ensuring that projects fit together in a logical

overlap - Recognition that projects need to be delivered
with sufficient space in between them to allow
local managers to support the change - Fit with national priorities

- The plan seeks to spread activity across the
three year planning period. - A number of areas have been identified for
development in 2008/09 e.g. estates and hate
crime, these may develop into projects in future
years.

efficiency and effectiveness
Project/Proposal
What is it?
Implementation of a streamlined process for the
preparation of case files to ensure they are
proportionate and therefore release police time.
Directors Guidance Streamlined Process (DGSP)
Integrated Prosecution Teams (IPT)
A single file and administrative process managed
between the CPS and police to reduce duplication
whilst improving performance.
Virtual Courts
Using video conferencing and document sharing
technology to allow defendants to be heard in
court from police stations, with some cases dealt
with in a matter of hours.
CJSSS Youth
The aims will be essentially the same as for
CJSSS in the Magistrates court to transfer the
principles of CJSSS in the magistrates' court
into the working of the youth court
Exchange Links
Exchange Links includes (NSPIS- COMPASS, NSPIS-
LIBRA)
Bichard R7
Deliver recommendation 7 of the Bichard enquiry
by improving both the speed and accuracy of the
entry of court results onto the PNC - speeding up
the sharing of data on dangerous offenders
PROGRESS
Progress is the IT tool to support the criminal
case progression function
Traffic
Project to improve the current low level of
traffic prosecutions in London
Estates
A review to consider how to optimise the estate
resources owned by each agency
Enforcement
A problem analysis of issues and possible
solutions to support improved enforcement. This
will lead to business improvement activity and
possibly further project activity.
