Why Form a Geography Club ?
  • Children are naturally curious about the world
    around them.
  • Geography provides a great platform for
    satisfying childrens curiosity.
  • Teachers lack time for in-depth geography
    projects.
  • Weve done most of the work for you!

Overview
  • Geography Club content is targeted at upper
    elementary through middle school.
  • Activities are located on the NCGE website
    (www.ncge.org).
  • Activities are based on National Standards and
    designed to engage students with high-interest,
    hands-on strategies.

Setting Up Your Club
  • Get approval from administrator.
  • Decide when and where to meet.
  • Arrange after-school transportation.
  • Obtain funding.

  • Decide how often the club will meet. (one or two
    times per month is suggested)

  • A wall map of the world
  • Atlases, almanacs, and other reference books
