COURSE SUBSTITUTION

• NOTE It is advisable to try an Insert Course
  exception before attempting a Course
  Substitution exception.
• A students course can be substituted for a
  specific course in a list of acceptable courses.
• The students course assumes the identity of
  the substituted course.

EXAMPLE

• A student receives special credit for the
  following transfer course
• WI03 ENGLISH S000.01 5.0 KB WOMEN IN
  LITERATURE
• CSCC ENGL276
• This course was approved the meet the Second
  Writing Requirement in the GECs and was
  substituted for English 367.04.

BEFORE THE EXCEPTION

SUBSTITUTING A COURSE

• Step 1. Select Add Exception from the
  Exceptions menu, THEN SELECT Course
  Substitution from the list.
• Step 2. Input both the students course and the
  substitute being used for this exception. BOTH
  course masks must be entered correctly or the
  exception will not work.
• Step 3. (Optional) Add a specific term for the
  students course.

Step 1a. Exceptions Tab Choose Add Exception.

Step 1b. Select Course Substitution.

Step 2a. Enter the course and its substitute
(dept and number) into the Course fields.
Note Course Mask is UPPER CASE ONLY.

Step 2b. Click SaveAdd

AFTER THE EXCEPTION Re-run the audit to verify
the exception is accurate.
