7Priorities Under 406
- Priorities are determined by the Secretary of
Agriculture, in consultation with the NAREEEAB
(the National Agricultural Research, Education,
Extension, and Economics Advisory Board) using
stakeholder input.
8Who Is Eligible?
- Accredited colleges and universities that grant a
bachelors degree or any other higher degree - This includes many non-Land Grant institutions,
but excludes 2-year institutions.
9What About Indirect Costs?
- Indirect costs are permitted but limited to 19
percent of total Federal funds
10Are There Matching Requirements?
- A one for one match of Federal dollars will only
be required for commodity specific grants. - Even for commodity specific grants, the match may
be waived.
