16The UC Berkeley Bicycle Plan, The LRDP CalCAP
- Released in 2006, the Campus Bicycle Plan calls
to meet and preferably exceed the 2020 Long Range
Development Plans goal to increase the number of
bicycle commuters by 500 over the next 10 years - The Bicycle Plan calls for 440K in high priority
bicycle projects to be completed to support the
LRDP commute goals - The Bicycle Plans high priority projects are
part of the CalCAP Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Reductions strategy - 124K has been allocated in 2007-2008 from
administration funds to complete the most
pressing high-priority safety and way-finding
projects.
17Campus Bicycle Plan Projects
18Campus Primary Bikeway Network
Accommodate a multi-user environment on campus
Reduce greenhouse gas emissions Create a network
of mostly roads and some pathways that enhance
bicycle movements on campus as well as improve
connections between the campus and the City of
Berkeley
19Communications Monitoring
- COMMUNICATIONS
- Update the Rolling Through Berkeley brochure
- Include bicycling information on Campus Access
Information signs - Improve bicycling information on the web and
participate in outreach events
MONITORING As called for in the LRDP Every three
years, the campus conducts transportation surveys
of faculty, staff and students to find out how
they commute to campus
