4School education
At the age of six the American child begins
elementary school by entering to the First Grade.
The American school year runs from September to
June, with a full summer vacation. Elementary
school usually goes from First Grade to Sixth
Grade.

Public schools are free and supported by state
taxes. There are a great number of children study
at the public schools.
Private schools charge tuition and receive
additional support from gifts. Admission to some
private schools is highly selective.

8Lessons
- Lessons begin at 830 and finish at 1600
oclock. The duration of the lesson is 45-60
minutes, then students have 20 minutes break.
There are about 25 students in each class.
9Subjects
- Younger elementary children study subjects such
as writing, reading, and counting. - Older elementary children learn history, math,
art, music and English. Elementary school
teachers teach social skills to children in all
grades.
10School uniform
Each school has its own uniform. Students must
wear uniform. Girls wear one-color jumper, gray
or blue skirts and black shoes. Boys wear
one-color jumper, gray or blue trousers and black
shoes. Make-up including nail varnish and jeans
are not allowed.

Thanksgiving Day (the 4th Thursday of November)
Halloween (October 31)
Celebration trick or-treating, bobbing for
apples, costume parades, carving jack-o-lanterns.

President's Day is celebrated in February,20.
