• She was born in England in 1797.
• Her parents were famous writers.

• In 1813, when she was 16, Mary fell in love with
  a poet named Percy Shelley. Her father got angry
  and told Mary that she could not see Percy again.

• Mary and Percy ran away together to a country
  called Switzerland.

• Switzerland was romantic, but they had no
  money. So, they lived with a friend of Percys.

At night, the friends wrote and told ghost
stories

• Marys didnt want to write a ghost story. She
  wanted to write a story about a scientist who
  made a monster. Today that story is called
  Frankenstein. Mary wrote it when she was only
  19 years old!
