lines to implement in room high speed internet
access with front desk control and automated
billing. You can also provide Kiosks for your
lobby or executive areas, and even facilitate
guest printing from the rooms, with automated
billing as well.

    hotels on a revenue share. The revenue share
    approach can result in the properties forcing
    guests to accept high per day charges for the
    entire stay
  • as well as the property paying a guaranteed
    amount each month that exceeds the up-front of an
    outright purchase.
  • Small- to medium-sized properties not qualifying
    for a revenue share solution, thus purchasing is
    the only way they can offer this amenity to
    guests. In most cases they also want to recover
    costs through user fees and/or room rate
    increases.

The Hotel decides which cabling option they will
implement. The cost of installation and the
performance of the eHospitality solution, and
options available, are determined by this choice
of their style of implementation.

Internet installation options
The CAT 3/5 based solution requires installation
of some special equipment to manage all room
ports and to isolate each guest room from all
other guest rooms as well as the administration
ports. This solution can easily support KIOSK
and Guest printing to a laser shared by staff and
guests without any security concerns. This
implementation can provide 10 megabit or 100
megabit service based on the wiring standard
used. With CAT 5, hotels can go to 10/1000
service with equipment upgrades. The InnConnect
card implementation approach costs considerably
less but does not enable direct printing services
for guests and provides a 5 megabit
service. InnKeeper control and billing is
available for both solutions. InnKeeper will
manage the ports, or cards, during the check in
and check out processes, including room moves.
In both solutions, hotel staff and guests, as
well as Kiosks, can share a common Hi-Speed
source and IP address. With VPN routers installed
with a static IP, both solutions can enable VPN
support to the hotel. A VPN router is required
for both solutions.

cabling is based on actual quotes.
