  • Virginia's 4 and 5 year Teacher Education
    programs produce 3,000 graduates a year
  • For the 2007-2008 school year, Virginia's school
    divisions hired 2,900 new teachers.

ProTeam Curriculum
  • Exploratory class for students in grades 7 and 8
    with a career interest in teaching and education.
  • Designed to help students set realistic goals.
  • Includes the steps to prepare for successful
    completion of high school and college, including
    an emphasis on career development competencies.
  • Emphasis on service learning, cooperative work
    groups, teaching-like experiences, and family
    involvement.
  • Should be articulated with a Virginia Teachers
    for Tomorrow program at the high school.
