EA Improve accountability and training for
Military Service Responsible Officers (ROs). The
product is now DESC owned and ROs need to be
aware of their responsibilities in the quality
and quantity world and how they act act as DESC
agents. Improve the DESC courses put together
by PMC to include base-level responsibilities.
DESC-BQ will make the request to DESC

FILTERABILITY TEST The Army wants to determine
if the filterability test can be used to replace
the particulate and filtration time tests as a
new work item. DESC was provided filterability
units to provide some test data back to EMCEE.
Need to determine the extent of the available
data. BQ will request data from labs running the
filterability tests with corollary particulate

PHASE II OF THE JP5 STUDY The Navy is proceeding
on getting a full cost/benefit study performed on
converting the Navy to a single fuel, that being
JP5. DESC has many acquisition and logistical
concerns that need to be addressed in the study.
The Navy include DESC representatives in the
development of options, operational impacts, and
the associated costs. Action Office

under MIL-PRF-17331. These need to be added to

SPECIFICATION AND STANDARDS REVISION During the
revision process of MIL-STD 3004A, keeping track
of revisions made was difficult. Recommend that a
document manager be obtained and used within the
fuels community. BQ will research available tools
that could be used and propose to the fuels

ENVIRONMENTAL As Sulfur reductions continue to
occur, regulations are slated to include off-road
diesel in the reductions. The Navys F76 Sulfur
will become an issue in this regard. Navy lead a
team with DESC-BP to develop a plan to comply
with the upcoming regulatory actions. Action
