Swaziland HIV/AIDS Monitoring System (SHAPMos)

• There are two major data source in Swaziland and
  these are
• Surveys (about 8 are in the ME Road Map)
• ROUTINE DATA (input and output level data)
• SHAPMoS
• Ministry of Health HIV ME system data

HOW DOES SHAPMoS WORK

• Provides an indication of what is being done in
  the field of non-clinical HIV services.
• Each organisation completes a standard report
  form every quarter (one per region).
• Each organisation submits the form to Regional
  ME Coordinator (RMEC).
• (RMEC) consolidate capture data onto SHAP-Data
  and send to National Coordinating Office.
• SHAPMoS data and MoHSW data is used to produce a
  Quarterly Service Coverage Report.
• The Coverage Report is disseminated through
  national and regional workshops.

Progress to date

• Coverage Report for the Quarter July to Sept 2006
  has been published and disseminated.
• There are 59 organizations reporting
• A total of 112 reports were received from
  implementing partners for the quarter July to
  Sept 2006.
• We do not how many HIV/AIDS service organizations
  are in the Country but a mapping exercise is
  underway.
