ASM International Ambassador Program ASM
Ambassadors are international members of ASM who
represent ASM in their country and region.
Identifies the interests and needs of the local
microbiological community, and assists in ASMs
ongoing efforts to meet those needs.

International Fellowships for Asia The ASM
International Fellowship Program provides the
opportunity for an early career scientist or
student from Asia to visit a host laboratory in
the United States. Professors are encouraged
to promote this program to their students. The
next deadline for applications is April 15, 2009.

International Professorships to Asia The ASM
International Professorship Program encourages
international collaborations by assisting ASM
members to travel to an institution of higher
learning to teach a short course on a single
topic in the microbiological sciences.
Professors at universities in Southeast Asia
are encouraged to contact a colleague in the
United States and submit a joint proposal. The
next deadline for applications is April 15,

  • Minicourses
  • Minicourses are organized by the ASM in
    conjunction with leading institutions around the
    world.
  • Minicourses provide participants with an
    introduction to the interdisciplinary approach to
    a particular area of research, permitting them to
    exchange ideas with leading scientists in their
    field and with the junior faculty and graduate
    students selected to participate in the course.
