  • People construct knowledge and understanding
based on what they already know and believe.
  • Teachers MUST know students well and build on
    existing knowledge, considering learning styles
and have a greater repertoire of teaching
    techniques.
  • Pedagogy for 21st Century will comprise-
  • The Learner at the centre.
  • Teacher drawing from a large repertoire of
    strategies and skills.

  • Silvertons ICT Expectations
  • Expectation that all curriculum planning
documents must incorporate ICT, across all Levels
    and in Specialist areas.
  • All staff completes the ePotential online survey
  • ICT goal built into all teachers Performance
    Plans
  • Our teachers mentor or peer coach each other on
particular ICT programs, on how to use the
different ICT resources / equipment we have and
assist each another with ICT planning

    Multiliteracies

  • ICT Professional Development
  • We have ICT peer coaches that work with teachers.
  • ICT Professional Development internally or
    externally.
  • Our teachers use students as experts, e.g. grade
6 student may go into a grade 3 class and assist
the teacher or students on an activity.
  • Our students also PD teachers on certain ICT
skills / knowledge afterschool, eg. GPS training
  • A lot of reassurance goes to teachers that its
okay for their students to have better ICT skills
and knowledge then them. Teachers must not feel
    threatened by this fact!!
