ar Educator I love my job. I get to travel ar
ound this great country and sing songs with kids.
I get to hear what they laugh about, what they
play about, what motivates them, and what scares
them. The best part about the job is what I have
learned from kids. During my assembly Im going
to share some of those lessons with the students
and you. And Im going to emphasize why I think
music is an absolutely integral part of a childs
education. Not a nice-to-have part, but an
indispensable key ingredient in their cognitive,
physical, and social development.
Music is a part of being human. Its part of our
nature and fabric of being. And theres not one
of us who doesnt have rhythm. It starts with our
heart beats and travels everywhere with us. It
may take some time to find our rhythm in life,
and once we do, we must honor it and honor the
rhythm of others. I have great respect for what
you do and I encourage you to use music, song,
and dance as teaching tools, whether you think
you can sing or not. Your students will benefit
and so will you. Keep up the great work! The kid
