Judaism
  • Abraham heard a voice that told him, his family,
    and flocks to leave.
  • Abraham was the founding father. Jacob was the
    father of the 12 tribes.
  • They worshiped one God, which meant they were
    monotheistic.
  • They believed inherent goodness of the world, its
    inhabitants as creation of god and do not require
    a savior.

Christianity
  • The rise of Christianity was in Judah, Bethlehem.
    Jesus was the founding leader of Christianity.
  • They where monotheistic, but they believed in
    Jesus.
  • Jesus performed many miracles during this time,
    related many of his teachings.
  • Christianity and Judaism share the same history
    up to the time Jesus Christ, they are very
    similar in many of there core beliefs.

Islam
  • The religion started in Medina in the 17th
    century.
  • Islam was founded in 622 CE by the prophet
    Mohammed.
  • The five pillars of Islam are 1.faith 2.prayer
    3.alms 4.fasting 5. pilgrimage.
  • The Kaaba, sacred shrine of Islam is visited by a
    million of people.

Buddhism
  • Buddhism was developed in India.
  • Siddhartha Gautama, or Buddah which means
    enlightened one.
  • The Four Noble Truths and the eightfold path was
    developed in India.
  • Buddhism is practiced individually, but temples
    and monasteries do excits.
  • Siddhartha was born into Brahmin.

Hinduism
  • Hinduism was developed in India.
  • Hinduism had no founding leaders
  • The Hindus believed in a strict Caste System,
    which meant their position in live could not be
    changed.
  • Hindus believe that existence is a cycle of
    birth, death, and rebirth.

Confucianism
  • Confucianism was developed in China.
  • Confucius was known in China as Kung Fu-TZU.
  • They thought rulers could sucessed if they try
    again.
  • He taught the value of leading.
  • Confucius spent the rest of his years in
    retirement.

Taoism
  • Taoism was developed in China.
  • Taoism was founded by Lao-Tzu.
  • Lao-Tzu created the Ying Yang symbol.
  • In Taoism you could be born into it or you could
    have a choice not to be in it.
  • The Ying side is the dark side, and the Yang side
    is the light side.
  • Taoism became a religion in 440 CE.
