sand. They had rooms for celebrations in the
pueblos.

bread, beans, squash, melons, pumpkins, and
fruits.

- They used bow and arrows. They also used wooden

grow crops. They sold them to tourists.

that much water. They had not that much
vegetation.

9 The Blackfeet tribes lived in tepees. Since
the Blackfeet followed the buffalo herds the tipi
were designed to break easily, like a modern
tent. An entire Blackfoot village would be ready
to move within an hour.

dresses, felt hats, and buckskin clothes.

12Blackfeet foods
- Blackfoot ate plants like pumpkins, sunflowers,
corn, squash and sweet seed. The women gathered
the berries and other wild plants. Food was
plentiful and easy to get. Some of the
Blackfoot's special plants are cranberries,
blueberries, saskatoon berries, and pinon nut.
Wild rice was good with duck or in venison stews
for them.

- The Blackfoot weapons were clubs, tomahawks ,
knives. Their main choice of weapon was the bow
and arrow.

- The Blackfoot were great believers because
they believed in all kinds of things. The one
thing they believed in was the creator because
they thought that the creator created everything,
including the universe and Earth. Another thing
the Blackfoot believed was that when they said
something bad about the bison or the buffalo, the
animals would go far away from the Blackfoot.
16Blackfeet Climate
The climate for the Blackfoot changed gradually,
like our weather. There were temperature of 90
degrees and as low as 10 degrees. The weather
affected the Blackfoot because in order to keep
warm they had to make warm clothes and then when
it was warm they had to make more clothes for
when it was hot outside or even medium
temperature. The weather also affected them
because when the buffalo were near extinction
they could barley make enough clothes to keep
them warm through the long winter.

The climate was around 70s in the summer
and in the winter it was around 10 degrees.
20Iroquois foods
- The main crops were corn, beans, and squash. They
imagined them as beautiful woman clothed in
plants. The Iroquois were farmers and hunters.
They women harvested wild berries and herbs while
the men shot deer and elk. The men fished in the
river. The woman would make cornbread, soups, and
stews cooked on stone hearths.

moccasins, and breechcloths.

- The Makah lived in coastal villages of
rectangular cedar-plank houses with flat roofs.
Usually these houses were large and each one
housed several families from the same clan.

a ogre woman and they also believed in
Christianity which involves Jesus Christ.

seals, sea lions, and even whales from their
canoes. They also caught fish and hunted deer,
birds, and small game land. Makah women gathered
clams and shellfish, berries, and roots.

- The geography of presentation is that
all of these tribes have differences and
similarities. For example the Iroquois and Makah
had the same kinds of foods. The Hopi and
Blackfeet are similar because they both have the
same kinds of weapons.
