police soon arrive. They find James and chase
him. James, fleeing from his pursuers, grabs a
woman and uses her as a shield to protect himself
against the police. The officers back off but,
suddenly, James starts firing at the officers.
One of the officers takes careful aim, firesand
strikes the woman hostage. She falls, mortally
wounded. James is quickly apprehended. Based on
