1 Kings 171-6 Now Elijah the Tishbite, from
Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, "As the Lord, the
God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be
neither dew nor rain in the next few years except
at my word." Then the word of the Lord came to
Elijah "Leave here, turn eastward and hide in
the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. You will
drink from the brook, and I have ordered the
ravens to feed you there." So he did what the
Lord had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine,
east of the Jordan, and stayed there. The ravens
brought him bread and meat in the morning and
bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from
the brook.
1 Reyes 171-7 Entonces Elías tisbita, que era de
los moradores de Galaad, dijo a Acab Vive Jehová
Dios de Israel, en cuya presencia estoy, que no
habrá lluvia ni rocío en estos años, sino por mi
palabra. Y vino a él palabra de Jehová,
diciendo Apártate de aquí, y vuélvete al
oriente, y escóndete en el arroyo de Querit, que
está frente al Jordán. Beberás del arroyo y yo
he mandado a los cuervos que te den allí de
comer. Y él fue e hizo conforme a la palabra
de Jehová pues se fue y vivió junto al arroyo de
Querit, que está frente al Jordán. Y los cuervos
le traían pan y carne por la mañana, y pan y
carne por la tarde y bebía del arroyo.

177-12 - Some time later the brook dried up
because there had been no rain in the land. Then
the word of the Lord came to him "Go at once to
Zarephath of Sidon and stay there. I have
commanded a widow in that place to supply you
with food." So he went to Zarephath. When he
came to the town gate, a widow was there
gathering sticks. He called to her and asked,
"Would you bring me a little water in a jar so I
may have a drink?" As she was going to get it, he
called, "And bring me, please, a piece of bread."
"As surely as the Lord your God lives," she
replied, "I don't have any bread-only a handful
of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. I am
gathering a few sticks to take home and make a
meal for myself and my son, that we may eat
it-and die."
177-13 - Pasados algunos días, se secó el
arroyo, porque no había llovido sobre la tierra.
Vino luego a él palabra de Jehová, diciendo
Levántate, vete a Sarepta de Si-dón y mora allí
he aquí yo he dado orden allí a una mujer viuda
que te sustente. En-tonces él se levantó y se
fue a Sarepta. Y cuando llegó a la puerta de la
ciudad, he aquí una mujer viuda que estaba allí
reco-giendo leña y él la llamó, y le dijo Te
ruego que me traigas un poco de agua en un vaso,
para que beba. Y yendo ella para traérsela, él la
volvió a llamar, y le dijo Te ruego que me
traigas también un bocado de pan en tu mano. Y
ella respondió Vive Jehová tu Dios, que no tengo
pan cocido solamente un puñado de harina tengo
en la tinaja, y un poco de aceite en una vasija
y ahora recogía dos leños, para entrar y
prepararlo para mí y para mi hijo, para que lo
comamos, y nos dejemos morir.

1713-16 Elijah said to her, "Don't be afraid. Go
home and do as you have said. But first make a
small cake of bread for me from what you have and
bring it to me, and then make something for
yourself and your son. For this is what the Lord,
the God of Israel, says 'The jar of flour will
not be used up and the jug of oil will not run
dry until the day the Lord gives rain on the
land.'" She went away and did as Elijah had
told her. So there was food every day for Elijah
and for the woman and her family. For the jar of
flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not
run dry, in keeping with the word of the Lord
spoken by Elijah.
1713-16 Elías le dijo No tengas temor ve, haz
como has dicho pero hazme a mí primero de ello
una pequeña torta cocida debajo de la ceniza, y
tráemela y después harás para ti y para tu hijo.
Porque Jehová Dios de Israel ha dicho así La
harina de la tinaja no escaseará, ni el aceite de
la vasija disminuirá, hasta el día en que Jehová
haga llover sobre la faz de la tierra. Entonces
ella fue e hizo como le dijo Elías y comió él, y
ella, y su casa, muchos días. Y la harina de la
tinaja no escaseó, ni el aceite de la vasija
menguó, conforme a la palabra que Jehová había
dicho por Elías.

instructions.

Her hope rested on the promise of a Jewish
stranger.

Faith requires a response that is unreasonable
(illogical).
La fe requiere una reacción que es irrazonable
(ilógica).
We respond because we believe, not because we
understand.

Luke 424-27 "I tell you the truth," he
contin-ued, "no prophet is accepted in his
hometown. I assure you that there were many
widows in Israel in Elijah's time, when the sky
was shut for three and a half years and there was
a severe famine throughout the land. Yet Elijah
was not sent to any of them, but to a widow in
Zarephath in the region of Sidon. And there were
many in Israel with leprosy in the time of Elisha
the prophet, yet not one of them was
cleansed-only Naaman the Syrian."
Lucas 424-27 Y añadió De cierto os digo, que
ningún profeta es acepto en su propia tierra. Y
en verdad os digo que muchas viudas había en
Israel en los días de Elías, cuando el cielo fue
cerrado por tres años y seis meses, y hubo una
gran hambre en toda la tierra pero a ninguna de
ellas fue enviado Elías, sino a una mujer viuda
en Sarepta de Sidón. Y muchos leprosos había en
Israel en tiempo del profeta Eliseo pero ninguno
de ellos fue limpiado, sino Naamán el sirio.

Matt 628-34 - And why do you worry about
clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow.
They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that
not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed
like one of these. If that is how God clothes
the grass of the field, which is here today and
tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not
much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So
do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or
'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
For the pagans run after all these things, and
your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,
and all these things will be given to you as
well. Therefore do not worry about tomor-row, for
tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has
enough trouble of its own.

afanáis? Considerad los lirios del campo, cómo
crecen no trabajan ni hilan pero os digo, que
ni aun Salo-món con toda su gloria se vistió así
como uno de ellos. Y si la hierba del campo que
hoy es, y mañana se echa en el horno, Dios la
viste así, no hará mucho más a vosotros, hombres
de poca fe? No os afanéis, pues, diciendo Qué
comeremos, o qué beberemos, o qué vestiremos?
Porque los gentiles buscan todas estas cosas
pero vuestro Padre celestial sabe que tenéis
necesidad de todas estas cosas. Mas buscad
pri-meramente el reino de Dios y su justicia, y
todas estas cosas os serán añadidas. Así que, no
os afanéis por el día de mañana, porque el día de
maña-na traerá su afán. Basta a cada día su
propio mal.

Phil 37-9 - But whatever was to my profit I now
consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is
more, I consider everything a loss compared to
the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus
my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I
consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ
and be found in him, not having a righteousness
of my own that comes from the law, but that which
is through faith in Christ-the righteousness that
comes from God and is by faith.

Matt 620-21 - But store up for yourselves
treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not
des-troy, and where thieves do not break in and
steal. For where your trea-sure is, there your
heart will be also.
Mat 620-21 - sino haceos tesoros en el cielo,
donde ni la polilla ni el orín corrompen, y donde
ladrones no minan ni hurtan. Porque donde esté
vuestro tesoro, allí estará también vuestro
corazón.
2 Cor 96-10 - Whoever sows spar-ingly will also
reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will
also reap generously And God is able to make all
grace abound to you, so that in all things at all
times, having all that you need, you will abound
in every good work. As it is written He has
scattered abroad his gifts to the poor his
righteousness endures forever." Now he who
supplies seed to the sower and bread for food
will also supply and increase your store of seed
and will enlarge the harvest of your
righteousness.
2 Cor. 96-10 - El que siembra esca-samente
también segará escasamen-te y el que siembra
generosamente, generosamente también segará...Y
poderoso es Dios para hacer que abunde en
vosotros toda gracia, a fin de que, teniendo
siempre en todas las cosas todo lo suficiente,
abundéis para toda buena obra como está
escrito Repartió, dio a los pobres Su
justicia permanece para siempre. Y el que da
semilla al que siembra, y pan al que come,
proveerá y multi-plicará vuestra sementera, y
aumen-tará los frutos de vuestra justicia.

Prov 39-10 - Honor the Lord with your wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops then your
barns will be filled to overflowing, and your
vats will brim over with new wine.

If God sends you an unreasonable, illogical
opportunity to act by faith, what will you do
with it? Si Dios te envie una irrazonable e
ilógica oportunidad de actuar por fe, qué harás
con ella?
