- Attain the required work experience 2 years in
driver training - Attend the Essential Instructional Skills for
Professional Driver Trainers course - Pass CDT certification exam
- Complete application and certification exhibit
and submit to NATMI

6Process Overview
- Training requirements and certification exam

7Renewal
- In order to stay current, certified individuals
must renew every 3 years from the date of their
initial certification - Renewal applicants must accumulate 30 points in
the 3-year cycle. - A workbook documenting points earned must be
submitted to NATMI prior to the renewal due date
