FAIR ELECTION COMMITTEE
  • President appoints the chairperson and members of
    the Fair Election Committee following the annual
    meeting in November.
  • Committee has a chairperson and not less than
    five nor more than nine members in good standing.
  • Committee plans and oversees annual elections and
    campaigning.
  • Set the expenses to be incurred by candidates.
  • Provide the style of the election ballot.
  • Certify election and submit report to Board of
    Directors.

Nominating Committee
  • The Nominating Committee will certify the
    eligibility of members who run for office.
  • Formulate annual election slate.
  • Submit slate of nominees for each office before
    the regular meeting in September.
  • Submit slate of nominees to Fair Election
    Committee.
  • Conduct annual election in September at Annual
    Business Meeting.
  • At least ten active members in good standing may,
    ten days or more prior to date of the election
    submit nominations to Fair Election Committee.
  • Any active member in good standing may make
    nominations from the floor at time of election.

Election Notification
  • At the direction of the Fair Election Committee
    will mail a copy of the nominees to each member
    in good standing.
  • This should happen at least nine (9) days prior
    to election.

DIRECTORS AND TERMS OF OFFICE
  • Six directors are elected in even years at the
    annual election. Five directors will be elected
    in odd years at annual election. This will
    maintain experience on the board.
  • Directors shall hold office for two years.

    (Appointed by President), Finance and Budget,
    Nominating and Public Information and History

    Legal/Legislative, Membership, Program and

ELECTION OF OFFICERS AND TERMS
  • Chapter Officers
  • President, Vice Presidents, Treasurer and
    Secretary
  • The above officers are elected annually or
    bi-annually, based on chapter's bylaws.
  • There is no term limit in the Pro Forma bylaws.
  • Qualifications
  • To hold any of the above offices, nominee must be
    a member in good standing and held an elected
    office on the board for one or more years.

REGIONAL ELECTION
  • Regional Vice President and Regional
    Representatives are elected bi-annually elections
    by their regional council.
  • Regional Vice President - Odd Year
  • Regional Representative - Even Year
  • Qualifications
  • One year as an elected officer of the local
    chapter, Leaderships skills
  • Knowledge of AIM-IRS organization.

NOMINATIONS FROM THE FLOOR
  • Nominations can be made from the floor by any
    member in good standing. The nomination
    chairperson or designee must always ask "Is there
    any nominations from the floor.
  • Nominee receiving the greatest number of votes
    for any given office shall be elected.

VOTING
  • For continuous terms one motion can be made
    indicating one vote to reelect the slate into
    office.
  • In case of a tie, the outgoing President shall
    cast the deciding vote at the direction of the
    Fair Election Committee, unless he or she is
    running for a position at that time.

VOTING (continued)
  • If this is the case, the Immediate Past President
    shall cast the deciding vote at the direction of
    the Fair Election Committee.
  • If the outgoing President and the Immediate Past
    President is one in the same refer to Roberts
    Rule of Order.
