Lung Scoring

• Active infection
• Active infections are(rare, but considered
  significant and is judged based on changes in the
  Tracheobronchial and Mediastinal lymph nodes.
  May see acute to chronic inflammation swollen
  tissue, new adhesions, etc. If severe the same
  performance loss is given to active lesions as
  chronic lesions. Severe bronchiolectasis can be
  considered an active lesion is the lung tissue is
  swollen.

• Pleuritis
• Single to few small adhesions (scored with a
  dot). Multiple large adhesions gt3mm (scored
  with a slash). Severe-extensive adhesions
  frequently a portion of the lung is missing
  because of pleuritis (lung adhesion) so tight a
  part of the lung remains with the carcass ... the
  carcass is generally railed out (RO) to have the
  pleura stripped out.

  the performance loss between types of pleuritic
  (adhesions) damage observed.

• CC - Granular lesion
• Lighter than atelectatic/collapsed, but this
  designation includes collapsed and consolidated
  areas, may include bronchiolectasis. Scaring may
  create an irregular surface of affected areas.

  present data suggests the loss of performance
  observed is slightly less than with pleuritis and
  missing lung parts due to pleuritis.

• Eosinophilic lesions
• The lesion is caused by migrating parasites and

  early and turns greenish as it ages.
