We all love to eat out. We don't have a problem paying for that greasy burger, or that gigantic burrito that two of us couldn't entirely eat. We have no problem supporting those big fast food chains. But, 21Acres want to share with you one way to help our struggling economy is to eat local. Eating local has turned into a relatively large movement recently, and many people are turning to Local Farms and Vendors, as well as grocery stores and restaurants that get their food from local farmers as well. It is an excellent way to put money back into your local community.

A few ways you can eat locally are
-Shop at Our Farm Market
-Shop at local grocery stores that get their produce from local farms.
-Eat at restaurants that buy locally produced foods.
-Plant a garden and grow your own food to eat and give to others in the community.
-By local food at the freeze, can, or dry it so you can eat it later in the year.
Play a part in keeping our community active and keeping your money in your community. Eating local is a good way of accomplishing this. With a struggling economy and a nation covered in debt, put your money into your own community. Help the Local Farms and Vendors keep their jobs and regular income by supporting them and purchasing their food.

When you buy direct from local farmers, your dollars stay within your community and strengthen the local economy. More than 90 of every dollar you spend goes to the farmer, thus preserving farming as a livelihood and farmland." Supporting farmers near you is a great way to keep money in your community, and it also helps farmers to have an income and continue to maintain their farms.
The next time you are putting together your grocery list take some time to think about where you are going to go to purchase those items. What Local Farms and Vendors do you know that carry those things on your list? Do something different and go out of your routine to support a local vendor. You may be surprised at how much you like buying from local vendors instead of those big box food chains all of the time. It is evident that putting your money in the hands of local merchants keeps that money flowing in your local community. What does that mean to you, though? Better school systems? Better roads? It's worth your time to see where you can contribute.

Supporting local business has such a huge impact on our local economy, and community. Can you imagine what it would be like without the local businesses? What a pity it would be! From savoring produce at the peak of freshness to meeting the people who grow your food, there are countless reasons to support farmers markets. Get started with 21Acres here at http//21acres.org/
