PROJECT BEL AIR Presented in Haiti, Canada and
USA by Fondasyon timoulan ayiti pou lavi
myò. Sustained in France by Timoun dHaïti

WHY THIS SLIDE SHOW ?
If you follow a little the international news ,
it won't often be that you hear from Haïti . And
if it occurs , it is often in a negative way
cyclones, floods, kidnapping, starvation riots,
briberies, corruption and so forth. Nowadays, we
are going to show you positive things as
demonstrating that Haïtians can get down to work
and help the poorest amongst them . The story
begun in the area of Port-au-Prince called
Carrefour-Feuilles, with Yolette who was the
first partner of the French Association Timoun
d'Haïti.

3
A PRIVATE INITIATIVE .
  • I am a chemist and Eva is a doctor . In a while
I am going to send you some photos about an
absolutely volunteer action we led with Marlène,
one of my sisters , on the friday just before the
    Carnivals .
  • We simply asked for help to several persons and
we managed to gather 40 000 gourdes in local
    money
  • - 800 / 1 000 US -
  • And you are going to discover what it meant for
    90 underprivileged children of Port-au-Prince.

  • This is what we can realise with a little bit of
both will and conviction . This was in the
    area called Carrefour-Feuilles, in
    Port-au-Prince.
  • You have to keep in mind that it is thanks to a
private initiative of persons who could not stand
idly by the misery of their people .

17
  • Then Why not sustain together
  • private donors, public institutions,
associations, people of good will the plan in
preparation in the area of Bel-Air, in Port-au
    Prince.
  • We plan to open a center like the French PMI
where mother and child are taken care of.

18
  • The plan is now more precise . A survey has been
done amongst the population to inquire about its
    composition .
  • COMPOSITION
  • 0 to 5 years old..127
  • 6 to 13 ..102
  • 14 to 18 .204
  • 19 to 30 .246
  • 30 to 99 .187
  • In fact , it is surprising that we have found
several sixty years old persons and moreover two
    aged 77 and 99 .
