  • The Ride to Conquer Cancer is as a history-making
opportunity to do something big about cancer,
something epic. Like cycling from Toronto to
Niagara Falls, Vancouver to Seattle, or Montreal
to Quebec city in two days. Sure, it sounds like
a lot and its meant to be. Thats because
were on a conquest. And those dont come easy.
But make no mistake, this event isnt just for
athletes or cycling enthusiasts. The Ride to
Conquer Cancer is for anyone who wants to
challenge themselves for a great cause. Even
people who havent ridden since they were twelve.
All you need is motivation, a bike, and a
    helmet.

  • The Underwear Affair in Vancouver, Calgary,
Edmonton and Toronto is a 10K Run / 5K Walk to
uncover cures for cancers below the waist. Its
a refreshing, new approach to raise funds for
cancers that would otherwise be taboo to discuss.
These are the very diseases that have been
labeled unsexy or awkward and have perhaps
been less funded as such. Now is the time to
erase those labels and give these cancers the
awareness, research and care they truly require.
  • 10K Run / 5K Walk / 400 fundraising minnimum
  • Fun undies and costumes
  • EXPOsed Afterparty

  • So whats the secret of our success? You. Its
all about you, the participant. We give you the
tools and training necessary to create a
groundswell that leads to success. And when you
succeed, so does the event. Starting with that
logic, the foundation is solid. Then we build
    upon that foundation
  • The three pillars of helping you help us
  • Inspiration
  • Mobilization
  • Execution

10
  • Inspiration What would drive someone to walk 60
kilometres or bike 200 kilometres? A greater
call. That means different things to different
people. Everyone has their own motivations. But
the common thread is inspiration. People want to
be inspired to reach beyond their current place,
whether that be physical, emotional, or
    philanthropic.
  • Thats why CauseForce provides each participant
with the personal inspirational fuel to
    accomplish great things
  • Inspire regular people to go beyond their
    comfort zone
  • Inspire people who want to help but dont know
    how
  • Inspire participants and donors to convert
personal loss into a positive impact
  • Construct a cathartic journey for the
    participants to empower themselves independence,
healing, weight loss, boost to self-esteem they
will then inspire others with their stories

11
  • Its easy to confuse information with
communication. You must find the balance between
informing your constituents with e-mails and
direct mail and inspiring them with colorful
communication that awakens them to new
    possibilities
  • Alberta Cancer Foundations Story
  • And the more personalized, the better. When a
participant feels special and important, theyre
going to raise more money, show up in higher
percentages, and have a better time on the event.
Thats why communication makes a fundraiser a
    mega fundraiser.
  • Paula Siegel's Story

12
Electronic Communication Technology has
ironically unleashed a paradigm shift of greater
personal attention and tailored interaction in
mega fundraising events. Bring your
communication to the constituents instead of
asking them to come to you. Allow the
constituents to bring their stories to their
social circle via these platforms.. CRM platform
like Artez personal pages, online donations,
online registration, email, database
marketing Web 2.0 Facebook, Twitter,
YouTube, texting, mobile phone apps, etc.
13
  • Mobilization
  • OK. You have them. Now what?
  • You bring the huge mass of people together, and
help them work together? You talk to them
individually, ask them them to mobilize their
peers, and get out of the way!
  • Engage and Activate them
  • Online tools Customized face book apps, etc.
  • Introduce them to your doctors and researchers
  • Training walks and training rides
  • Hometown Press
  • Blogs and online forums
  • Walking and Bike Expos
  • Team building facilitation
  • Fundraising support
  • Tell them they are the heroes making the
    difference.

14
Execution This is what it comes down to. For
CauseForce, execution means not only delivering
an experience as promised, but exceeding those
expectations with complete emotional and physical
satiation. We inspired them to join, we engaged
them with communication in the lead-up, we
mobilized them to raise money and awareness now
its showtime. If we fail to execute, they wont
come back. And we need them to come back!
CauseForce events have over 50 repeat
participant rate year-over-year.
15
  • So you add all of this up and you get a great
mega fundraising program that uses electronic
communication to start conversations, inform and
    most importantly to inspire.
  • Were talking about transformative programs that
    can fundamentally change the benefiting
organizations and the lives of their participants
    for the better.
  • Hundreds of thousands of new donors
  • Thousands of energized constituents evangelizing
    your cause
  • An emotional bond built between your organization
    and the community
