  • ATE has over 200 active projects (i.e., projects
    and centers).
  • 76 active ATE projects over one year old were
    surveyed100 responded.
  • Survey was conducted by The Evaluation Center
    at Western Michigan University with funding from
    the National Science Foundation (Award No.
    9900698).

Materials Development
  • 85 of projects (65 of 76) developed materials
    mainly to support their programs.
  • 604 substantial materials were in draft stage.
  • 1,037 were completed.
  • Materials were used locally and/or elsewhere
    outside the projects, and some were commercially
    published.

Professional Development
  • 78 of projects (59 of 76) provided 931
    opportunities for 7,406 faculty and staff in the
    last 12 months.
  • Most participants expressed satisfaction (e.g.,
    87 expressed this for workshops).
  • Most participants indicated intent to use ideas
    learned (e.g., 72 indicated this for workshops).

Collaboration
  • 89 of projects (68 of 76) reported collaborative
    efforts with business/industry, public agencies,
    educational institutions, and other projects for
    multiple purposes and support (monetary
    in-kind).
  • Business/Industryon average, projects
    collaborated with 16 separate organizations,
    involving 26 individuals from this sector.
