Hearing the Voice From Heaven

(Rev. 41) After these things I looked, and
behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the
first voice which I heard was like a trumpet
speaking with me, saying, "Come up here, and
Iwill show you things which must take place after
this."

raise up for you a Prophet like me from your

me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God,
nor let me see this great fire anymore, lest I
die.

And the LORD said to me "What they have spoken
is good. I will raise up for them a Prophet like
you from among their brethren, and will put My
words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them
all that I command Him. And it shall be that
whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks
in My name, I will require it of him.
(Acts 217) "And it shall come to pass in the
last days, says God, That I will pour out of My
Spirit on all flesh your sons and your daughters
shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions,
your old men shall dream dreams.

4 realms of prophecy
1) Prophecy of Scripture
(2 Pet. 120-21) knowing this first, that no
prophecy of Scripture is of any private
interpretation, for prophecy never came by the
will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they
were moved by the Holy Spirit.

Inspiration the supernatural influence of the
Spirit of God on the human mind by which the
apostles and the prophets were qualified to set
forth divine truth without any mixture of error.
The Prophecy of Scripture is the only kind of
prophecy that can claim this level of inspiration.

2) Spirit of Prophecy
The anointing of the Holy Spirit that enables men
or women, who do not have the gift of prophecy,
to speak forth under the inspiration of God.
(Rev. 1910) And I fell at his feet to worship
him. But he said to me, "See that you do not do
that! I am your fellow servant, and of your
brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship
God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of
prophecy."

3) Gift of Prophecy
(1 Cor.124) There are diversities of gifts, but
the same Spirit.
(1 Cor.1210) to another the working of miracles,
to another prophecy, to another discerning of
spirits, to another different kinds of tongues,
to another the interpretation of tongues.

Prophecy is not the same as preaching.
preaching Gk. (evaggelizo) to announce good
news
(1Cor. 916) For if I preach the gospel, I have
nothing to boast of, for necessity is laid upon
me yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel!
prophesying Gk. (propheteia) to predict,
foretell, or forth tell to utter forth for
another by divine revelation

4) Office of the Prophet
The prophetic realm of foretelling and
confirmation by one called to the office.
(Eph. 219-20) Now, therefore, you are no longer
strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens
with the saints and members of the household of
God, having been built on the foundation of the
apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being
the chief cornerstone.
(Eph. 411) And He Himself gave some to be
apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and
some pastors and teachers.

Prophets are vessels whom Christ chooses to
function constantly and accurately in the realm
of the word of knowledge, word of wisdom,
discernment of spirits, confirmation, revelation,
illumination, prediction, visions, and
corrections.
(1 Cor. 143) But he who prophesies speaks
edification and exhortation and comfort to men.

Indications you have heard the Voice from Heaven
The words you hear carry
1) a Revelation an unveiling
(1 Cor. 146) But now, brethren, if I come to you
speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you
unless I speak to you either by revelation, by
knowledge, by prophesying, or by teaching?
(1 Cor. 1426) How is it then, brethren? Whenever
you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a
teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an
interpretation. Let all things be done for
edification.

2) Confirmation
(1Cor. 14-6) I thank my God always concerning
you for the grace of God which was given to you
by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in
everything by Him in all utterance and all
knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was
confirmed in you,
(2 Pet. 117-18) For He received from God the
Father honor and glory when such a voice came to
Him from the Excellent Glory "This is My beloved
Son, in whom I am well pleased. And we heard
this voice which came from heaven when we were
with Him on the holy mountain.

5) Prediction

3 cautions with the prophetic
1) Prophecy is limited.
(1 Cor. 139) For we know in part and we prophesy
in part. NKJ
(1 Cor. 139) Now our knowledge is partial and
incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals
only part of the whole picture! NLT

2) Prophecy must be judged.
(1 Cor. 1429) Let two or three prophets speak,
and let the others judge.
3) Prophecy must be proven.
(1Thes. 520-21) Do not despise prophecies. Test
all things hold fast what is good.

Does the word contradict the written Word of God?
Does the word contradict the character of God?
Does the word bear witness with my spirit?
Does the word have 2 or 3 confirmations? Check
with your pastors or leaders.
