What is Asked of a Council Member
  • Agree to Serve a 3-Year Term - Attend 2
    Meetings per Year (not mandatory) -
    Membership Term May be Renewed
  • Contribute a Gift of 1,500 per Year to Move the
    ECE Dept. Forward - Gift May Be
    Personal, Corporate, or a Combination thereof
    - Or a Gift-In-Kind such as Donating Lab
    Equipment or Professional Services
  • Give Advice on Specific Projects Where the
    Member has Expertise or Contacts

Goal of the Advisory Council is to Assist and
Support the ECE Department in Several Key Areas
  • Assist in Achieving ABET Accreditation
  • Provide Industry Feedback on ECE Graduates
  • Advise on Industrial Research Opportunities
  • Provide Resources and Contacts for Moving the
    ECE Department Forward such as - Lab
    Equipment, Scholarships, and Fellowship Support
    - Contacts for Restricted and Unrestricted
    Research Support
  • Provide Input on Program Curriculum Content
    -BSEE, BSCpE
  • Advise on Student Employment Opportunities
  • Advise on Recruitment

    Recruited UA and EE Graduates
  • ABET Evaluators Visited UA on 9/23 and 9/24
  • Alex De Abreu-Garcia, John Welch, and the
    Advisory Council Co-Chairs met with ABET
    Evaluators on September 24, 2001
  • First full Council Meeting on May 7, 2002
  • Advisory Council Concept Successful in Other UA
