What is the Engagement Programme?

• Programme designed to engage KS4 students at risk
  of becoming NEET
• Develop personal social skills, attitudes
  behaviours to reduce risk
• Phase 2 of Pilot
• Part of the Foundation Learning Tier
• Will become a mandatory part of the curriculum

Key Stage 4 Engagement Programme

• For disaffected and low attaining students in
  mainstream schools, special schools and PRUs
• Access to the statutory Key Stage 4 curriculum
• A personalised programme
• A flexible programme
• An increased development of personal and social
  skills
• A strong work focus
• An emphasis on functional skills
• Additional high quality advice, support and
  guidance

• Programme 1
• 2 year programme for years 10 11 in schools
  100 students
• Jan 08 start
• Programme 2
• 1 year programme for year 11 in PRUS 60
  students
• Sept 07 start
• 2 days per week on programme
• (Functional life skills, work related learning,
  preparation for work experience, trade visits,
  work experience)
• 3 days per week core curriculum in school
• Managed in current curriculum networks
