  • The laws vary from state to state, city to city,
and even county to county to move. Different
cities, towns, villages, and municipalities, on
the other hand, will most probably have different
restrictions about tiny houses, as well as
particular residential building codes. In some
states, it is challenging to find a residential
area, for constructing a new tiny house under
    1000 square feet.

Some of the states of the USA allow Tiny Houses
Arizona
  • Many local jurisdictions, such as Tuscan, Pine,
Pima County, Arizona, and others, are trying to
establish Tiny House communities. Another county
in Arizona that is attempting to support the tiny
    house community in Coconino County.
  • A tiny house is defined as a home that is less
than 400 square feet in size and must comply with
    all applicable building requirements.

CALIFORNIA
  • In California, tiny houses are supported by 58
counties and 478 cities, with many of them
enforcing strict regulations on what a tiny house
    can be used for.
  • To begin, tiny houses must be one of the
following types of structures and be legal
    Recreational vehicles, a site-built residence
    constructed under the California Building
    Standards Code.
  • The Fresno, California zoning code allows for the
use and construction of tiny homes as permanent
dwellings, as well as second dwelling units,
backyard cottages, and additional living quarters
as a specific type of permissible use on
    residentially zoned land.

COLORADO
  • The most important factor driving Colorado
    population growth is employment opportunities,
and the manner of life that comes with them is
    also quite appealing.
  • Full-time residential usage of tiny houses on
wheels is prohibited in Colorado. Even though the
tiny house movement is growing, El Paso County is
a popular destination for many tiny house
occupants. If specific conditions are met, some
jurisdictions may allow a THOW for residential
    usage.
  • Tiny houses must be built under ANSI RV standards
and are permitted in RV parks for full-time
living, on single lots, and as accessory
    dwellings.

6
IDAHO
  • Tiny houses are becoming increasingly popular in
the United States, and they have spread to Idaho
and many other states. Local governments are
changing local regulations to allow for tiny
houses. In the future, East Idaho may see the
    development of tiny house communities.
  • A moving tiny house in Idaho can cost anywhere
from 8000 to 160,000, depending on size and
    quality.
