2Evaluation Precedence
- FIG Code of Points is the basis of all
evaluations. - USA interpretations used when FIG rule is too
vague or doesnt exist. - JO Competition rules supercede FIG and USA
interpretations, where they conflict. - JO Updates supercede JO Rules, etc.
- JO Judging Guide provides guidelines for
applying JO Rules.
3Safety is a Priority
- JO has their own set of apparatus specifications
at each level. - Panel mats maybe used to mount any apparatus.
Cannot use both mat and vault board on PB. - Additional mats may be used at JE1 and JE2, as
specified on p.10. - Coach can not stack mats for spotting.
4Spotting
- No deduction for incidental contact.
- 0.5 for spot execution deductions. Possible
non-recognition of skill. - Exercise can not start if no spotter where
required. - 0.2 if spotter walks away and a warning.
- 2nd occurrence disqualifies all athletes on the
team for that event.

All levels - Required spotter on Vault for all levels 1-7
- Vault spotter may be situated anywhere within

29Pommel Horse
- Top leg must be horizontal for all leg cuts and
pendulum swings

- No zero score will be given, except failure to
contact the horse. - A zero vault may be repeated with a 1.0 deduction
