• Inhabitants 9.255 (01.07.08) , listing Fræna as

  Møre og Romsdal county.
• 50.000 inhabitants within 45 minutes travel

  on the west coast between Stavanger and

Fisheries

• The biggest fishing municipality in Romsdal and
  an important source of income in Fræna
• Fisheries employed a total of 435 persons during
  2003 of these less than 100 within receiving and
  processing.
• A fishing fleet of a little more than 100 boats.
  The largest one is pictured here. Most boats are
  much smaller.

• Producing chalk slurry to the paper industry in
  Europe
• Up to 55 of the total weight of paper is chalk
  from Hustadmarmor
• The largest factory of its kind in the world
• 150 persons are employed at the main factory in
  Elnesvågen. Including external activities like
  transport, the factory initiates more than 1.000
  full time jobs

Tine Midt - Norge Elnesvågen

• One of the the biggest dairys in Norway
• Receives 1,3 million litres of milk/week
  (70 mill./year)
• Employs approximately 75 persons in the factory
  in Elnesvågen
• The indirect employment is approx. 20 in
  transport (and 1000 farmers).
• Jarlsberg cheese 70-80 is exported USA,
  Canada, Australia, Germany. On the domestic
  marked Much goes to pizza production in Stranda
  municipality in MR.
• Brown wey cheese 100 Norway

• Improvement of traffic situation in Elnesvågen.
• Moving of roads and change of road lamps.
• New elderly centre.
• New shopping mall and establishing of new
  companies in the centre.
• Vinmonopolet (State monopoly shop for vine and
  spirit) and a different other new shops establish
  themselves
• Plans for building a new house for cultural
  activities.

  fishery activies in the whole region

  agricultural development in Fræna
