5Facts about Education Reform Initiative in Qatar
- November 2002 H.H Amir of Qatar announced the
Establishment of SEC - May 2001 Educational Reform started Education
for New Era - September 2004 Cohort One 21 Independent
Schools was established. - May 2007 The QNPSTL were launched.
- September 2008 more than 80 Independent Schools
are run and operated by - school operators / Principals.
- In the (PISA) 2006, the majority of 15 year old
Qatari students tested were below Level 1 in
all three subjects. Very few students were in the
top levels of performance. - Grade 4 Performance gave some hope in PIRLS
results in 2007.
