Facts about Education Reform Initiative in Qatar
  • November 2002 H.H Amir of Qatar announced the
    Establishment of SEC
  • May 2001 Educational Reform started Education
    for New Era
  • September 2004 Cohort One 21 Independent
    Schools was established.
  • May 2007 The QNPSTL were launched.
  • September 2008 more than 80 Independent Schools
    are run and operated by
  • school operators / Principals.
  • In the (PISA) 2006, the majority of 15 year old
    Qatari students tested were below Level 1 in
    all three subjects. Very few students were in the
    top levels of performance.
  • Grade 4 Performance gave some hope in PIRLS
    results in 2007.
