Develop, manufacture and sell Fuel Processors for
the fuel cell and hydrogen fuel markets.
3Current IFGC Approach Based on H2-percent by
volume
- Fuel Gas Natural Gas, Manufactured Gas, LPG,
(IFGC) - Manufactured Gas A combustible gas
produced from coal, coke, or oil, or by reforming
of natural or liquefied petroleum gases, (Gas
Engineers Handbook) - Hydrogen content of typical
manufactured gases up to 70 (Gas Engineers
Handbook) Manufactured Gases with lt70
Hydrogen IFGC Chapters 1-6 Manufactured
Gases with gt70 and lt95 Hydrogen (NHA WG)?
Manufactured Gases with gt95 Hydrogen IFGC
Chapter 7
410 EURO
- Fuel processor
- Fuel Natural Gas
- H2 for 5 kWe FC
- CO lt 10 ppmv
- 80 efficiency
- Natural Gas
- De-Sulphurizer
- Catalytic Burner
- for exhaust gases
This reactor de-sulphurizes NG and burns the
remaining gases from the cell stack assembly
Block integrating flow control and gas blowers
VEGA 5 Fuel Processing System
5Proposed IFGC Approach Chapter 7 scope to
include all gaseous H2 and gaseous H2 fuel
applications
- - In all non-integrated technologies generating
and using hydrogen for stationary and automotive
PEM fuel cell applications, hydrogen is the only
fuel, other fuels (NG, LPG, CO) are present in
trace amounts. - - Expand Chapter 7 scope to cover all
non-transportation gaseous hydrogen fuel systems
(hydrogen fuel generation, refueling stations,
fuel cell power systems using hydrogen fuel) - - Requirements specific to mixtures having more
than 95-percent H2 by volume should make this
explicit each time they appear.
6Proposed IFGC Approach Chapter 7 for all H2 fuel
applications
- HYDROGEN-GENERATING APPLIANCE. A self-contained
- package or factory-matched packages of integrated
systems - for generating gaseous hydrogen and gaseous
hydrogen fuel. - Hydrogen- generating appliances utilize
electrolysis, reformation, - chemical or other processes to generate hydrogen.
- GASEOUS HYDROGEN SYSTEM. An assembly of piping,
- devices and apparatus designed to generate,
store, contain, distribute - or transport gaseous hydrogen and gaseous
hydrogen fuel . - Gaseous hydrogen systems consist of items such as
- compressed gas containers, reactors and
appurtenances, - including pressure regulators, pressure
- relief devices, manifolds, pumps, compressors and
- interconnecting piping and tubing and controls.
7- Definitions
- GASEOUS HYDROGEN FUEL. A nontoxic combustible gas
mixture containing at least 30-percent gaseous
hydrogen by volume and having not more than
5-percent of other combustible gases by volume
and not more than 1-percent oxygen by volume. - GASEOUS HYDROGEN. A hydrogen gas of Type I as per
CGA G-5.3. (NOTE CGA G-5.3 Commodity
specification for hydrogen.)
