1. 5x60 programme
  • Crickhowell High School has become one of the
latest schools in Wales to sign up to the 5x60
programme - a new initiative introduced by the
Sports Council for Wales in association with the
    Welsh Assembly Government.
  • The aim of the programme is to encourage
secondary school pupils in Wales to take part in
60 minutes of activity 5 times a week.
  • Physical Activity can take any form walking
with a group of friends, canoeing on the river,
playing in a 5-a-side football league, or joining
    a street-dancing club.

5x60 programme
  • James Ralph is our dedicated 5x60 officier.
  • His role is to consult with pupils and develop a
programme of activities to take place outside of
school hours this may be before school, at
lunchtime, after school, or at weekends. The
whole programme is pupil-centred so cannot work
    without their involvement.
  • The programme also seeks to involve older pupils,
parents, teachers, and people in the local
community to act as volunteers and assist in the
    delivery of events and activities.

    regularly reviewed for appropriateness and
relevance to pupils. After last years review it

our schemes of work in PSE.

fortnight and discuss ideas of how they can make
a difference. Before putting their ideas into
    practice.

achieving our 2nd Green Flag in March 07.
